Room 7 learn about the largest organ in our body... the liver. Yesterday at the Life Education caravan, Corrinne shared lots of amazing facts about the liver. Here are a few of them: 1. The liver has over 500 jobs so it is an extremely busy organ. 2. If someone's liver gets sick, another person can donate half of their liver to be transplanted into the sick person. Both parts of the liver will grow back to their original size - wow! 3. The liver is approximately the same size as a small melon. 4. The liver doesn't complain about being overworked until it gets seriously sick which means that you won't be able to find out early that there is a problem with your liver to stop it getting worse. 5. One of jobs of the liver is to break down fats before they are stored in the body and to sort the vitamins and minerals that are in the blood. These come from the food we eat. LOOK AFTER YOUR LIVER!
